Cultural Committee

The Cultural Committee of IMT Ghaziabad strives to celebrate the cultural diversity on campus by organizing various events and festivals. The Committee ensures that the students have a home-away-from-home experience at IMT Ghaziabad. The Committee provides various opportunities for the students to relax and enjoy campus life amidst rigorous academics. Members of the committee come from diversified backgrounds. Celebrating this diversity helps us to unite and learn from each other. We understand the importance of cultural sensitivity in today’s business world and the cultural committee makes the young leaders at IMT Ghaziabad sensitive to each other’s culture. The committee seeks to create a platform that provides the students with an opportunity to display creative talents in a variety of ways.

Events and Initiatives:
PASSION – The flagship cultural extravaganza of IMT Ghaziabad. The event has a strong appeal to people across all age groups, a testimonial to which is that reputed brands across sectors have previously used Passion as their preferred branding platform in Ghaziabad. In its last edition in 2018, Passion hosted more than 1500 participants for 35 events and close to 3000 visitors from more than 85 colleges all over India.

For the fire time ever, the flagship Drama event called FABULA, which was always a part of Passion, was conducted in an absolutely different way, away from the campus. Other engrossing events include War of Bands, Fashion Show, Fine Arts, MUN, Music and Dance.

FABULA – The Street Play Competition at Passion, was the highlight event this year. Staying true to the purpose of Nukkad Natak, for the first time ever we organized this competition somewhere it matters most and can bring about a real change. Fabula’18 was organized in Cannaught Place, the heart of Delhi with the theme “Nayi Soch, Naya Bharat”. The competition witnessed an enthusiastic participation of teams from various colleges across Delhi University. Pertinent issues raised through beautifully performed plays amassed a huge audience. The initiative was well appreciated and we ended up with the promise of coming bigger and better next year.

ZEST – The first touch point of the incoming batch with CulCom, which comes as early as within a month of coming to campus. Popularly known as the “First IMT High”, it is an event done by the new batch, for the new batch. Students come together to perform in various events like Band, Drama, Fashion Show, Dance and Music. Students bond together, making friends for a lifetime and it ends with a deafening cheer from the IMT crowd.

INDEPENDENCE DAY/REPUBLIC DAY – The most important part of our culture is the respect and the love for our own nation. This reflects on the Cultural Committee of IMT Ghaziabad. Cultural Committee makes sure every Independence Day and Republic Day is celebrated with fervor and zest. Starting with flag hoisting, the event proceeds with the speech by our respected Director and recitation of the National Anthem. This is followed by a competition wherein students present their opinions on any social issues of our nation. Also a drawing competition is organized to encourage the participation of the children of our Mess workers. The celebrations end with high tea and snacks.

CULTURAL FESTIVALS – The Cultural Committee has organized  & celebrated various festivals on campus like Lohri, Makar Sakranti, Saraswati Puja, Dandiya Night (during Navratri) and Ganesh Chaturthi with high energy and fervor. The purpose of celebrating these festivals is to give the students a chance to revisit their homes while staying right here on campus.

CRESCENDO – An event dedicated to the outgoing batch where we bid adieu to our seniors and wish them luck for all their future endeavors. This is to give them one parting opportunity to perform at their Alma Mater, an opportunity to make memories, which shall be cherished for a lifetime. The Last IMT High gives the platform to make it even bigger and better, showcasing the art and the talent to the IMT crowd one last time.
