It is a true honour and privilege to lead IMT Ghaziabad. To me, this is more of a home coming as I re-join the institution after a gap of around seven years.  I would like to say a big thank you to the community for the warm welcome accorded to me.

I feel excited to be given this opportunity to shape the next phase of this great institution, we hold so dear to our heart.

As I get started, I feel tremendously proud of my faculty, the professional staff, the alumni and the students, for the way they have contributed in enhancing IMT Ghaziabad’s global standing – being accredited by AACSB and ranked amongst top 100 globally by Financial Times.

I am aware of the challenges we face and the opportunities that we have and the few important initiatives that we need to focus on. One of our key areas of focus will be to ensure our programs remain relevant and aligned with industry needs. We will align the curriculum and pedagogy with roles that our graduates aspire for, including the emerging roles that are shaping the future of various industries. Our goal is to transition towards a curriculum that is role-driven rather than course-driven.

At IMT Ghaziabad, technology is deeply embedded in our identity—it is part of our name itself. We wish to remain ahead of the curve in adopting digital innovations. We will integrate the application of AI across all functional areas. This means exploring how AI is applied in marketing, finance, human resources management, and other domains to ensure our graduates are equipped with the necessary skills for the evolving job market.

Beyond AI, two other critical focus areas will be digital transformation and sustainability. Organizations today must navigate both technological advancements and sustainable business practices to remain competitive. Therefore, we will emphasize how businesses can gear up for digital transformation while aligning with sustainable development goals.

IMT Ghaziabad has been a pioneer in integrating sustainability and social responsibility into business education. Our flagship program on sustainability and social responsibility was featured in the AACSB’s ‘Innovations That Inspire’ list, which is a testament to our commitment to responsible business practices. Additionally, we have been recognized as a PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Champion, further strengthening our global position in this space. We will continue to build on this strength to develop responsible leaders who can drive meaningful change in the business world.

Our curriculum already integrates key aspects of leadership, social responsibility, and innovation through various interventions like sustainability and social responsibility, critical thinking, design thinking, and emerging technologies. Going forward we will place more emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking and new venture creation, ensuring that our students develop an innovative and problem-solving mindset.

At IMT Ghaziabad, we have a strong foundation for entrepreneurship, with our entrepreneurship cell already in place. We are committed to strengthening this to support our students in turning their entrepreneurial ideas into viable businesses. We already support those who opt for entrepreneurship through deferred placements – de-risking the entrepreneurial journey and by ensuring they are well-connected to a broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering them access to mentoring, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships.

Our philosophy is that business education, requires a “learn by doing” approach. Students must engage with real-world scenarios to truly understand business concepts. we have specialized labs like Bloomberg Finance Lab, AI Clinic, Digital Marketing Lab that offer students hands-on experience with industry-grade tools and technologies

I am grateful to the alumni for their support. Their involvement significantly impacts students by facilitating industry-relevant projects, offering mentorship, and sharing valuable industry insights.  They also help in maintaining the currency of courses and curriculum. Moving forward, I am confident that our alumni will play an even bigger role in guiding and shaping the future career of our students.

We will continue to develop pathway programs and co-curated courses in collaboration with our international partners to enhance the career outcomes of our students. By leveraging these partnerships, we will bring global expertise to the Indian context, offering our graduates a more diverse set of opportunities. Working together in this manner will help elevate IMT Ghaziabad’s position in global management education.

The goal is for our graduates to make meaningful contributions to the industry—both as practitioners and as entrepreneurs. They will continue to have a strong presence in areas like social entrepreneurship, the corporate sector, and NGOs, where their work will positively influence society.

As an institution, IMT Ghaziabad’s faculty will also play a pivotal role in contributing to select Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas like education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. These are the key areas where we aim to drive social impact. We are probably the only top B-school in India, to provide a 25% of tuition fee as scholarship to the female students enrolled in our programs.

Given that technology is at the core of our identity, our faculty will focus on applying emerging technologies to real-world problems, especially in the sustainability space. This integration of technology and sustainability will continue to shape our academic offerings and research initiatives.

The key focus areas during my tenure will be enhancing the success of our students, improving the profile of our faculty, and elevating the impact our alumni have on the broader community. Ultimately, the impact our graduates and faculty make in the larger society and industry will define our success.
