NISP Implementation at IMT-G

The National Innovation and Start-up Policy 2021 for students and faculty of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will enable the institutes to actively engage students, faculties and staff in innovation and entrepreneurship related activities. This framework will also facilitate Ministry of Human Resource Development in bringing uniformity across HEIs in terms of Intellectual Property ownership management, technology licensing and institutional start-up policy, thus enabling creation of a robust innovation and start-up ecosystem across all HEIs.

Strategic aim of the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at IMT-G (EEIMT):
To ensure IMT-G emerges as a favored destination for entrepreneurs, innovators and start-ups passionate about creating ventures of significance.
Objectives of the EEIMT:
- To provide a platform for students and key stakeholders to carry out entrepreneurial activities.
- To become a repository of intellectual and practical expertise for entrepreneurship, innovation, and start-up within national and global networks.
- To play an active and facilitative role in regional and national socio-economic development via the creation and support of commercially successful and socially impactful ventures.
The EEIMT will be created leveraging the existing resources and competencies available at the campus and will comprise of the following pillars –

The proposed plan of action for NISP implementation will be done in three phases with activities relevant to the four pillars to be undertaken in the short term, medium term and long term.
