Who can avail the library services?
Student, Faculty, Faculty Associates, Research Scholars, Officer, and Staff.

How can I become a member of the library? 
For enrolment as a member of the library, you need to fill up the membership form which is available at Membership & Circulation Desk. For Faculty, Faculty Associates, Research Scholars, Officer and Staff, the membership form duly filled-in with appropriate identification and further recommended by HOD should be submitted to Membership & Circulation Desk.

What are your library hours?

Monday to Friday 08.00 AM – 06.00 AM
Saturday & Sunday 08.00 AM – 10.00 PM

Before / during exams and placement week the library will remain open from 08.00 AM to 06.00 AM on weekends and holidays.

How do I access the library resources?
You can access the library resources by following way.
Physical material– physical materials are spread over two floors of the Library

Online Databases – Most of the e-resources are IP authenticated, and you can access the same from anywhere within the IMT Ghaziabad campus. For more details about online databases, please visit library website under the Digital Resources menu.

How are the books arranged in the library?
Books in the library are arranged in classified order System. After locating an item in the OPAC, the screen will provide the call number for the item. The call number is the “address” of the item on the shelf. It will look something like the following:
658 (assigned to the book “Management”)
658.8 (assigned to the book for “Marketing”)
However, besides General Collection, the books are also kept in other collections like Computer Books, Reference Books, Fiction & Literature Books and Hindi Books.

How can I recommend a book purchase?
An user can recommend a book for purchase by filling- in a ‘BOOK RECOMMENDATION FORM’ that can be obtained from the Circulation Desk or send email to ahussain@imt.edu or library@imt.edu

How can I search a book from OPAC?
Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables you to search documents in the possession of the library.  OPAC also allows library users to know their checkout status, issue history and so on. The computer is available for accessing OPAC inside the library.

What are Digital Resources available to users?

How do I access the journal online?
Online Journals may be consulted through the library web page under the Digital Resources menu.

Do I need to come to Library to access the databases?
Most of the databases subscribed by the library are IP enabled so you can access the same from anywhere within the campus. The mode of access is clearly mentioned under the name of the databases.

Where should I mail my reference query?
You can send any of your queries to reference & information to ahussain@imt.edu or library@imt.edu

How to request the article/s which are not subscribed by the library?
You may send an e-mail at ahussain@imt.edu or library@imt.edu citing the web link/bibliographic details of the article/s.

How to request the Book/s which are not available in the library?
You may send an e-mail at ahussain@imt.edu or library@imt.edu citing the details of the book/s.

How to search new arrival books?
Every Month library sends an email regarding newly added books list, and you can also find the same on library home page at Updates.

What is the timing of books issue/return in the library?

PGDM, DCP & PGDM-Executive Monday – Saturday 09.00 AM 10.00 PM
PGDM-Part Time Friday – Sunday 09.00 AM 10.00 PM

How many books and for how long I can borrow?

Where can I return a book/s?
You can return the book/s at Circulation Desk only.

How can I renew book/s?
You can renew book/s through the visit library circulation counter.

What are the overdue charges against late return of book(s)

Over dues, as laid down hereunder, shall be charged from the students if they fail to return the book(s) on or before the deadline as indicated on the Due-Date-Slip in the book:

    1. Books
      Rs. 5.00 per book per day shall be charged.

 

  1. Overnight issues
    Overnight items shall be returned on a due date within four hours of the opening of the Library failing which the late charge of Rs. 20.00 per day per book shall be realized.

What is Receipt of Payment?
You are advised to collect Receipt of Payment at the time of deposition of Overdue Fine from the CIRCULATION DESK and preserve it for verification of records.

What is Check-in/Return Slip?
You are advised to collect Check-in/Return Slip at the time of return book at CIRCULATION DESK and keep proper record of it for future verification of records in case of problem.

What if I lose or damage something I borrowed?
You should immediately consult the circulation desk to know the book detail and then consult the Acquisition Section for the replacement or payment of book. Library for loss of Book in prescribed format and replaced a new copy within seven days.

What I do on Loss of Library Card?
Members shall be responsible for the loss and misuse of Library Card. A member who loses his/her Library Card shall make a written report to the Librarian. A duplicate card will be issued at the cost of Rs. 100/-.

Who can I contact for help for placing material on reserve?
You can reserve book yourself using OPAC. Further, you can ask circulation staff for the accurate guidance of the Reservation Process.

How do I borrow reference books?
Books from reference section are not issued to Students. The Faculty members can get these issued for one week.

Can I bring the personal book in the library?
You can carry own books to the library by making necessary entries in daily log register.

Can I donate books or other materials to the library?
You are welcome to donate the book to the Library. Donated books will be cataloged under the gratis category. Accepting the books on donation is subjected to suitability as per collection development policies of the Library.

Where can I make a suggestion to the library?
“Suggestion Box” placed at the entrance of the library where you can drop-in your valuable suggestion(s). You can also email the suggestions @ library@imt.edu

What are basic library rules?

  • Maintain quiet study atmosphere. Silence must be observed in the library at all times.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed inside the library
  • No bags or cases are permitted into the library.
  • All library materials and personal belongings must be shown to the guard at the entrance at the time of entry and exit from the library.
  • All library users, when making copies of library materials, should strictly adhere to copyright laws.
  • Personal belongings should not be left unattended.
  • The library is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.
  • Use of mobiles inside the Library is strictly prohibited.
  • No material from the library should be taken out without proper issue. Taking the book(s) without adhering to the procedure will invite disciplinary action.
  • Faculty and staff going on extended leave, deputation, study leave or extraordinary leave will have to return all borrowed materials before leaving the Institute.
  • The lost or mutilated book should be brought to the notice of library staff immediately.
  • A website which violates the dignity of the institution is prohibited inside the library.
  • Mobile phones must be set to vibrate or silent ring mode while in the Library, and are not permitted to be used inside the library. Fine will be charged Rs.500/- if found guilty for using the mobile phone inside the library.
