MarkUp, the official marketing committee of IMT Ghaziabad, has helped orchestrate IMT’s mission of taking management education to new heights rather evidently and avowedly. Through simulation based experiential learning and application of classroom teaching, MarkUp aims to add to the rigor witnessed by the budding marketing community. It is a student-run enterprise that helps incorporate a sense of practicality amidst innovation in aspiring marketers; at the same time, it provides solutions to corporates.
As a student body and an organizer of inter and intra B-school events, MarkUp facilitates learning by conducting events annually; namely MarkRoadies, Ad-O-Holic, Eureka Effect and Marketing World Cup which also happens to be the flagship marketing event hosted at IMT. Our bi-annual marketing magazine, Markezine, serves to educate the B-school fraternity of the upcoming marketing trends.
The first marketing event of the academic year hosted by MarkUp, exclusively for first-year students. MarkRoadies, now a decade old, is kicked off every year at IMT’s iconic amphitheatre when the new students are still getting accustomed to the rigour of a management program. It is a three-stage event in which students are tested on their quick wits, creativity and marketing knowledge. The first round is a puzzling treasure hunt. The second round tests the teams’ advertising skills. The final stage of the event is a case study round which is judged by IMT Ghaziabad’s esteemed faculty. This event not only prepares the students for the corporate case study events but also hones their thinking capabilities and presentation skills.
It is the only advertising related Inter B-school competition hosted on campus. Ad-O-Holic sees participation from top B-schools of the country like MDI, IIM – Indore, IIM – Shillong, IIT Delhi DMS and IIM – Ranchi. The event, now in its 13th year, encourages the participants to be creative and come up with out-of-the-box solutions for advertising problems. The first round is an online quiz followed by the second round where the participants have to submit their big idea in the form of one slider. The teams which survive the first round have a face-off on campus, in the final case study round in front of industry experts. Focused on advertisements in particular, this event tests the participants on both problem-solving approach and creativity.
Eureka Effect marks the beginning of our flagship event – Marketing World Cup. It is a panel discussion wherein industry leaders from different domains come together and shed light on relevant and buzzing marketing issues. Towards the end of the event, students are encouraged to shoot out their curious questions to our panellists and take the discussion ahead and also participate in engagement activities to win exciting prizes from our exclusive sponsors. Eureka Effect ends with the unveiling of the winner trophies for Marketing World Cup and the beginning of registration for the same.
Marketing World Cup
Marketing World Cup, organized by MarkUp is one of the most awaited marketing events among the B-School fraternity.
It is a 48-hour non-stop face-off between the contenders from top B-schools of the country where the participants will be tested through a number of arduous case study competitions and on-spot events that are designed with the sole purpose of pushing you to your limits and bringing out the best in you.
MWC offers a plethora of marketing events which cater to budding marketers. Another novel facet of MWC is that it provides a platform for the participants to interact with industry stalwarts and deliberate on real-time industry problems.
Every year, this event attracts participation from top-notch B-Schools in the country
including the IIMs, FMS, MDI, IITs, SPJIMR, NITIE and many more.
Each team, comprising 4-6 members will participate in the 2-day event vying for the coveted trophy of the Marketing World Cup and rewards worth Rupees 1 lakhs.
Markezine is the bi-annual magazine published by MarkUp. It offers a platform for students to express their thoughts and ideas. It also keeps the readers updated with all the events organized by MarkUp. Students from IMT and other institutes send in their articles which are then shortlisted by the editorial team. The featured students get cash prizes for their contribution.
