FoundationAcademic and Industry Interactions
The twelve day induction module designed to help the students get a glimpse into their two year life at IMT Ghaziabad kick-started on June 15, 2015. The sessions were engaging and offered the students a diverse mix of academic and industry interactions.
Keeping in mind that students from diverse fields would be taking their first step into a management institute, the program was designed with utmost care. Sessions on current business environment and business economics, coupled with code of conduct to be followed at the institute served as a quick mix to students. The students were made aware of the pedagogy followed by the institute, along with what is expected of them to obtain the most out of the next two years.
The lectures were engaging and helped the students break the ice amongst themselves as well as the faculty. They did understand the difference between how a faculty member at a management institute is more a mentor than a teacher.
Industry interactions with prominent stakeholders across industries such as consulting, finance and marketing helped the students get an insight into how they function.
As an off the track session, the module also witnessed sessions on YES+ organized by the Art of Living faculty. The guides were engaging and had activities which included meditation as well as group activities helping the students know themselves better. Emphasis was laid on the importance of keeping your calm even under the most stressful situations.
Apart from academic and industry interactions, the module also witnessed sessions from committees in the college helping students understand the extracurricular activities IMT has to offer.
