C.R.I.C.K.E.T – Centre for Rural Innovation & Capacity Building through Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology – is the in-house social entrepreneurship committee established in collaboration with like-minded research institutes. The purpose of C.R.I.C.K.E.T is to support social entrepreneurship and thus provide a platform to bring about development at the grass root level in the society.

To focus at often neglected segments of the Indian society, such as rural innovators and micro and small enterprises and provide them professional guidance, thereby nurturing sustainable business.

Under the aegis of C.R.I.C.K.E.T, IMT Ghaziabad, several research studies were undertaken. One such study was’ Sustainable livelihood options for Primitive Tribal Groups in Jharkhand’. Tribal women from villages in and around Jharkhand are trained to master the art of the traditional Saura , Sohrai and Gond paintings. These paintings are displayed in exhibitions organized by the student committee members of C.R.I.C.K.E.T. during various events in the campus and consideration from the purchase of those paintings are utilized for welfare of Tribal community.

Our Events

Social service is a noble task but what’s even more inspiring is the ability to uplift the society by empowering the underprivileged section of the society. Kalpa, the flagship event of C.R.I.C.K.E.T., sets the stage for the leaders of tomorrow to combine innovation and resourcefulness to address critical social and environmental challenges. The competition covers how any pertinent social issue can be handled through viable business idea, for example drafting marketing strategy for the ailing handicrafts industry in India or how to enable inmates of Tihar jail to be positive contributors to the society.

Millennials are also known as the generation of youTubers. From entertainment to education, videos have been proved to be an excellent tool to create impact on masses. Following the same ideology, Parivartan was launched as a short video-making competition covering social issues prevalent in the society.

This year’s event highlights:

Yes Bank Foundation –Filmmaking workshop

“YES! I am the change”, a filmmaking workshop was organized on 8th August’16.The workshop provided skills to enable students to make meaningful short films.

The on-ground promotion activity for the workshop got huge response from all the IMTians and we hope to see the same zeal in the upcoming events. Parivartan 2016 too saw a great response from all the B-Schools.
