Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay is a teacher, fondly called ‘Master Moshai’ in his native place, Calcutta.

Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay is presently the Director of IMT Ghaziabad, he has rejoined the institute after a gap of about seven years. He has held leadership roles at several institutions, including SPJIMR Mumbai, MICA Ahmedabad, and JAGSoM Bangalore. Additionally, he served as the Founding Vice Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, where he developed an innovative liberal-professional curriculum framework based on the multiple-intelligence model. Pedagogical innovations initiated by him won global accolades – featuring in AACSB’s ‘Innovations That Inspire’ list.

Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay is an entrepreneur turned educator, who is passionate about internationalization of Indian higher education and positioning it on the world stage. He champions a pedagogy of ‘Learn by Doing’ and bringing social conscience into the realm of management education and practices.

He believes that the purpose of education is to build “character”. He is the recipient of the first Y K Bhushan Memorial Award for his ‘outstanding contribution to management education’ instituted by the Higher Education Foundation of India.

He has studied shopper marketing in general trade retail across Southeast Asia and Latin America, supported by leading multinational corporations (MNCs). He offers courses in Strategic Marketing and was a pioneer in developing the course on “Shopper Marketing.”

He evangelizes the globalization of Indian institutions and volunteers as a mentor and PRT member for AACSB. He is a founding member of EFMD Indian Business Council.
