Brief Profile

Dr. Akarsh Arora did his Ph.D. in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He teaches Microeconomics, Social Data Science, Quantitative Methods and Analysing Household Surveys. His research interest lies in understanding the dynamics of Growth, Poverty and well-being, Standard of Living, Youth Employment-Unemployment Issues, Energy and Hygiene well-being, and Domestic Tourism. Dr. Arora underwent training from Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), University of Oxford. Also associated with the Ganga River Basin Management Plan at IIT Roorkee. He has published papers in ABDC & ABS ranked journals such as Economic and Political Weekly, International Journal of Social Economics, and Web of Science Journal Poverty & Public Policy, Wiley amongst others. He has carried out consulting assignments for Pratichi (India) Trust, Kolkata and Centre for Human Ecology, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
