Driving Marketing Excellence through Experiences in Emerging Economies

During last couple of decades balance of world trade and business has shifted from an exclusive club of developed nations to a larger and inclusive group of emerging economies. The emerging economies accommodating two-third of world’s population are undergoing societal, economic and political transitions to become the epicentre of the new world order.

Emerging economies are endowed with abundant natural resources, a large pool of man-power and a surging base of consumers, making it a self-sustaining economic block. However, they need superior technology for efficient harnessing of resources, skill development for the man-power and competitive management and marketing practices to capture value from the customer base. This makes it obligatory for the two sets of economies to come together and share their competencies in a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship.

Since the socio-economic realities of these economies differ significantly from the developed world, business organizations need to redefine their value propositions to meet the unique yet rapidly evolving expectation of customers in the emerging markets. This needs a dialogue where researchers and practitioners operating in these economies share their experiences and research outcomes. The 2019 Emerging Markets Conference on the theme ‘Driving Marketing Excellence through Experiences in Emerging Economies’ provides an ideal platform where the experiences and thoughts can be assimilated to come up with a unified understanding of redefining value for emerging markets.

The conference intends to provide the following:

  1. A platform for sharing and exchanging experiences and insights on emerging markets.
  2. A signpost of intellectual contributions providing a coherent view on marketing in emerging markets.
  3. An opportunity to deliberate upon and set the research agenda for emerging markets.
