At IMTeam PRISM, we understand the meaning of this better than anyone. With the power to shape the image of IMT Ghaziabad at our fingertips, we are the custodians of Brand IMT and the voice of the students.
What do we do? Everything media.
For starters, we manage media relations and orchestrate the corporate communications for brand IMT Ghaziabad. Being the official mouthpiece of the college, we engage with all stakeholders and keep track of all the latest happenings on campus. We work hard to ensure that every voice gets heard, and every story gets told – be it of our faculty, our students, or our alumni.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
IMTeam PRISM acts as a bridge between the college, students as well as the aspiring candidates. This is ensured through regular knowledge transfer and information sharing through various social media handles while building strategic relations with other committees to enhance the digital footprint of brand IMT. Here’s a brief glimpse at the some of our key responsibilities:
IMTeam PRISM job is to manage media relations, orchestrate the corporate communications and take brand IMT to new heights. A key part of this entails ensuring promotion and coverage of B-school competitions and events like Mahindra War Room, HUL LIME, Reliance TUP, IMTheChange Talks amongst many others – which garner a wide response.
To do this, we engage on social media platforms and act as an interface to ensure IMT Ghaziabad’s active life is brought to its students, alumni, and the general public. We also manage IMT’s PR through regular releases in online news media and by organizing various events involving media personalities. We are also tasked with ensuring adequate media coverage for every event that happens in the Business School– from competitions to the convocation.
Charged with taking care of the college website, IMTeam PRISM is the first face aspirants see when they begin the journey of becoming an IMTian. Twitter AMAs are organized by our team in collaboration with the Admissions Committee to answer all queries that aspirants may have before stepping onto the campus. On campus, we are the official mouthpiece of both the college and the students. We keep an eye on all events, activities, and achievements on campus. Through the official college blog, IMTimes, we capture the current mood on campus every season. The blog also provides a platform to faculty, students, alumni, and industry leaders to share their thoughts on the latest happenings in the college and in the outside world.
IMTeam PRISM also handles all the official social media channels for IMT Ghaziabad. From Facebook and LinkedIn to Instagram, we use each channel to drive engagement with public and create conversations around college events and current affairs. We are also active on YouTube, where we cover IMT’s various events. Through these channels, we ensure that all our stakeholders – students, aspirants, alumni, and faculty get timely and regular information about the activities inside the college. These handles also form a two-way communication channel with being an ideal way for any of the external stakeholders to reach out to us. Apart from the regular sharing of information, the channels are essential to promote the brand IMT outside.
The committee starts off with Campus Connect – a short video series on Youtube aimed at helping the first years ace their summer placement process – which accumulates a massive response from the students. These videos are recorded and uploaded on YouTube by IMTeam PRISM’s students who conduct interviews of the senior students, asking them questions about their past interviews as well as their Summer Internship experience.
Xposure- a photography contest conducted by the committee give the budding shutterbugs of IMT to make it to the campus brochure and make the world see IMT through their lens.
One of the most exciting and happening events of IMT Ghaziabad is conducted by the team- which involves 4 events under it spanning 2 days.
Vichar Vimarsh – a media conclave has personalities from leading media houses engaging in an intriguing debate on a burning topic of the year. Students get to interact as well as debate with the personalities, thus giving them a podium to put forward their opinions in front of the honchos of media. A great value-add for budding managers, this event gives them deep insights into the world of media from the people who know it best.
This is followed by Chaos Theory– a maddening, competitive battle among the best B-Schools across the country. Here, students battle it out in teams of 2 or 3 and get to experience what it’s like to be on both sides of the camera in high-pressure situations akin to a press conference. This event takes students out of their comfort zone, putting them in the shoes of the newsmakers and placing them in front of a fiery press. Politics, controversial statements, questionable decisions, the podium of Chaos Theory covers it all. This event helps students familiarize themselves with society’s concerns, thus playing a role in the holistic learning experience of the budding managers.
The next day of CommuniconX involves people getting to enjoy and exhibit talents of their own. Tamasha– a 90-minute showcase of a comedy show by a professional theater group-at the auditorium is followed by a lovely night of music and poetry-named Meraki– at the Amphitheater under beautiful lights. The second day is a day that IMTians remember throughout their lives.
The biggest professional event (and an achievement) for any college is to conduct TEDx (TEDx is an international platform with a mission to spread ideas to local communities around the globe) and IMTeam PRISM feels privileged to be the stakeholders of organizing it every year. The committee brought TEDxIMTGhaziabad to life for the second time – a platform that brought together 5 eminent speakers from different walks of life to share their visions of ‘The Road Ahead’ with the audience. The event received positive response from everyone and PRISM aims to continue the legacy by conducting it yet again.
Altogether, the committee brings innovative transformations and gathers mammoth engagement across the campus, constantly improving the brand image of IMT Ghaziabad as a professional business school.
