Dr Samie Ahmed Sayed’s area of research and classroom teaching include Investment Banking, Mergers and Acquisitions, Financial Derivatives, Risk Management, Corporate Finance and Treasury and Foreign Exchange. He has travelled all over India and taught at prestigious management institutes, including IMI Kolkata, Symbiosis SIBM Pune, ITM Business School, Navi Mumbai. He has a doctoral-level degree (FPM) in Management from IMI, New Delhi.

He has also published research papers in reputed academic journals, including Vikalpa: The Journal of Decision Makers, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (Emerald), Journal of Advances in Management Research (Emerald).

He has extensive experience in the industry, primarily in Investment Banking with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). He is well-versed in financial models including DCF and LBO, IPO analysis and book building process, Pricing of rights issues with entitlement ratio, analysis of potential investors for sale of assets, critical analysis for pitch books, and post-mortem analysis of capital raisings for top management of clients.

In his role as a corporate empanelment trainer for Dun & Bradstreet, he has conducted corporate training for financial markets related subjects at Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, SocGen and Barclays.

As a Finance and investment manager at A & Z Exports Pvt, Ltd (Subsidiary of Kuwait Based Baday Al Sharq), he led a team of analysts for equity portfolio management and worked on trade finance for export deals. As a credit analyst for La Salle Bank, Chicago, he has experience in credit appraisal for small business banking, review of UCC filings and D&B database for understanding the credibility of a borrower.
