BFS Chairperson Dear Students , As the chairperson of the PGDM - BFS, I would like to welcome you to join the program. An obvious question that may come to a management aspirant’s mind would be why a need for a separate course on banking and financial services at IMT Ghaziabad. The need comes from the fact that, Banking and Financial services sector is among the fastest-growing sectors in the Indian economy and will need skilled workforce to sustain this growth. The importance and size of the financial services sector can be highlighted from the fact that it holds largest sectoral weight in the NSE NIFTY index. The traditional MBA/PGDM courses do not serve the purpose of exposing students towards finer nuances of BFS sector. Thus, PGDM-BFS program at IMT Ghaziabad will equip students with necessary skills and knowledge so they are day one ready for BFS companies in India and abroad. To further provide students with global best practices within the financial services, IMT Ghaziabad has partnered with Vlerick Business School, Brussels which is one of the oldest business and management school in Europe. It was established in 1953. It is a triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS) business school with campuses in Brussels, Ghent, and Leuven. The ‘master’s in finance’ Programs of Vlerick is ranked 22 in Europe and 26 worldwide by Financial Times (FT). Around 40% of the course will be delivered by Vlerick business school. The course will also leverage on the strong legacy of IMT Ghaziabad and a strong base of 12,000 alumni, 300 of whom occupy CXO positions in different companies located in India and abroad. We are looking for candidates who are genuinely wanting to build long term careers within the BFS sector. The program will equip students with necessary skills that will help them to succeed in the banking and financial services space. The PGDM -BFS program structure is a judicious blend of core management, Banking and Financial services courses. We have successfully placed students in leading banks and financial services firms such as HSBC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bank of America, RBL bank and leading consulting firms such as Deloitte, Darashaw, & Protiviti.
