Two-year PGDM programme will bring together academicians, experts and practitioners for world-class curriculum

bifs-programmeIMT Ghaziabad is well-known for its contemporary and relevant curriculum.

The curriculum is designed in such a way that it not only imparts knowledge on core subjects such as economics, finance, accounting and marketing but also develops skills and competencies through exposure to real situations.

The PGDM (Finance) programme at IMT Ghaziabad is AACSB accredited and AICTE approved. It has been grooming future leaders in the areas of BIFS (banking, insurance and financial services) and equity research.

The programme offers summer internships, pre-placement offers and final placements at top BIFS players such as HSBC, JP Morgan, BlackRock, Bank of America, CitiBank, Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw and Kotak Mahindra, in areas such as analytics, corporate banking, investment banking, risk advisory and strategy.

The banks and financial services companies of tomorrow will be very different from the past. There is a perceived shortage of trained manpower with the necessary skillset to strategise and manage such organisations in the fast-changing business environment.

Responding to this need, IMT Ghaziabad is launching a two-year PGDM programme in BIFS from the academic year 2019 (AICTE approval awaited).

The programme will be launched by the Centre for Banking Services (CBS) at IMT Ghaziabad. CBS is focussed on providing training and research to the BIFS sector.

The new programme will seek to bring together academicians, industry experts, domain specialists and practitioners to deliver a world-class curriculum.

Core, elective subjects
The first year of the programme will consist of core courses in various areas of management including finance, marketing, human resources, operations, strategy and technology as well as introductory courses on bank management, insurance and financial services. During the second year, students will take core and elective courses specific to the BIFS sector. These will include, inter alia, risk management in banks, credit appraisal, monitoring and restructuring, treasury and forex management, macro-economic environment and economic policy, fixed income securities, banking and insurance analytics, investment banking and wealth management.

IMT Ghaziabad will develop the curriculum and deliver the programme in partnership with the industry, and 30-40 per cent of the course will be delivered by industry practitioners.
