Dr. Chaudhuri has over three decades of experience in teaching, research and consultancy. He was a visiting scholar at Kellogg Graduate School of Management (North Western University, USA) under a UNDP program, and Manchester Business School (UK) under an ODA program. He was a faculty member in the North Bengal University (Lecturer, Dept. of Commerce), Burdwan University (Reader, Dept. of Business Administration), Management Development Institute (Professor in Finance), and International Management Institute (Professor in Finance). From Dec. 2007 to January 2017, he remained Executive Director of IPE Global Ltd. (New Delhi), a global consulting firm engaged in the development sectors. At present, he is teaching in the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
His expertise includes: (i) corporate financial management; (ii) security analysis and investment management; (iii) derivatives and risk management; (iv) infrastructure project appraisal and financing, including financial modelling of PPP projects; (v) public financial management (public expenditure review; public expenditure tracking survey; medium term expenditure framework; fiduciary risk assessment; and value-for-money analysis); (vi) municipal financing; and (vii) monitoring and evaluation of social sector projects and programmes.
Over the years, Dr. Chaudhuri has conducted a large number of management development programmes for the executives of corporate sector, banks and financial institutions. The list of such organizations includes: NTPC, Power Grid, ONGC, IOC, GAIL, IFCI, HDFC, CMC (now merged with TCS), Airports Authority of India, National Handloom Development Corporation, PNB Central Staff College, NIBSCOM, ICWA, ICAI, PHD Chamber of Commerce (Delhi), TERI, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Bharti Telecom, Hinduja Group, ITC hotels, J K Industries, Escorts, Alstom Power Projects, Bhiwani Textiles (unit of GRASIM), etc. He also designed and delivered a training programme on Integrated Bank Management for the senior officers of the Department of Banking Supervision, Reserve Bank of India.
Dr. Chaudhuri has worked as lead and/or senior consultant in over 60 domestic and international assignments funded by the World Bank, DFID, ADB USAID, European Union, UNICEF, UNDP, etc. He also conducted national and international training programmes on behalf of the World Bank, USAID, and ADB. He has experience of working in many countries such as US, UK, Canada, Switzerland, China, Mongolia, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Ethiopia, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Lesotho, and Zimbabwe.
He has published several research papers and consulting reports for the donors.
