Shawn Mathew is a graduate of the Fellow Program in Management (FPM-Marketing) from IIM Ahmedabad and holds a BTech degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to joining IMT Ghaziabad, Shawn was a faculty in the area of Marketing at IIM Jammu. Shawn has also worked as an Adjunct Faculty (Visiting Professor) with IIM Kozhikode, IIM Amritsar and AIIM Ahmedabad. His pre-doctorate industry tenure includes stints with Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group.
Shawn is an American Marketing Association (AMA) – Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow (2011) and was co-awarded the Public Health Research Initiative (PHRI) Grant (2016). Shawn is a Fellow of the Max Planck Summer Institute on Bounded Rationality (2017) and TAPMI-Max Planck Winter School on Bounded Rationality (2017). He is a semi-finalist of the Pareto Fellowship (Centre for Effective Altruism, Oxford University, 2016), an AIM -AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow (2014) and winner of the Liam Glynn Travel Scholarship (2011).
Shawn’s research interests are interdisciplinary in nature and focus on simplifying consumer decision-making. His teaching interests include Consumer Behavior, Brand Management, Digital Marketing and Behavioral Economics. Shawn’s research papers have been published in Journal of Promotion Management, Economic and Political Weekly and Bulletin of the Association of French Geographers.
