Dr. Ashish Varma, Ph.D is a member of the finance area at IMT Ghaziabad.
Ashish investigates the behavioral dimensions underpinning the accounting choices, processes and outcomes. He contributes to the managerial accounting research space wherein he studies the impact of an individual’s perception, judgement and preferences on firm level financial performance in the context of emerging markets.
His prior works have been published in the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting, Journal of Management and Governance, International journal of Organizational Analysis, International journal of Management and Decision Making etc. His research draws upon both psychology theories and economic theories wherein he uses both Qualitative methods and Quantitative methods to investigate the phenomenon of interest.
Ashish also authors teaching cases for class discussion amongst MBA students and contributes articles on contemporary themes for the practising accounting professionals.
Ashish’s teaching is informed by his research and he delivers courses on Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and ‘Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring’.
