Call for Submissions
You are invited to participate in the Conference on Smart Knowledge Habitats to be held at Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, India on 21-22 September 2017.

The first day of the conference on 21 September 2017 will be at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Who can attend this conference?
The conference will provide a quality forum for interactions among diverse groups of persons interested in the above theme. These will include researchers, academicians, consultants, corporate professionals, government officials, representatives of think tanks, social service organizations, entrepreneurs and doctoral and Masters students working in the areas of smart cities, knowledge cities, urban development, rural development, entrepreneurship, innovation, governance and environment among others. F. J Carrillo

Prof. Carrillo is Professor of Knowledge Management at Tecnologico de Monterrey and President of the World Capital Institute, Mexico. He is also the Founder and Honorary President of the Ibero-American Knowledge Systems Community. He has been a guest editor of the Journal of Knowledge Management, editor of the International Journal of Knowledge Based Development, and a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals. He has been a Knowledge-Based Development Advisor for numerous programs and agencies, including the European Commission, the World Bank and Mayors of various cities in America, Europe and Asia.

Gunter Koch

“Günter Koch is a co-founder of “The New Club of Paris” (NCP), the agenda setter of the Knowledge Society. He serves as the President of the Humboldt Cosmos Multiversity which is a spin-off of the NCP. His key competence is in profiling knowledge regions and cities”

Nilesh Kumar Purey 

Mr. Nilesh Kumar Purey is working as Vice president –Information and communication Technology for GIFT city Ltd. Mr. Purey has contributed in recently released   National Building Code (NBC- 2016 ) for drafting standards for ” Intelligent Buildings ” . He has won multiple awards including Cisco Technology Award -2014, IDC –ICONIC Award & e-LETS award for Innovation. Mr. Purey is also advisor to Gujarat Technical University (GTU ) for their undergraduate course on Smart Cities . He is also members of Board of Management Studies ” of Gujarat Forensic University, Gandhi Nagar. Mr. Nilesh Purey is also part Associated with APCRDA (Andhra Pradesh- Capital Region Development Authority , Andhra Pradesh Govt.) as Member of Expert committee for finalization of ICT & Smart Utility Infrastructure in upcoming Capital City “ Amravati “ in newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh. He has more than 20 years of experience in designing, rolling out and managing green field multi-location IT and telecom projects. His area of expertise are Smart Cities, Infrastructure development , Telecom, BFSI and Retail domains .

Abhishek Ranjan

Abhishek currently leads Banking Industry Marketing, Sustainability, and CSR for Brillio Technologies. He brings with him 11+ years of Corporate and Social Sector experience. He successfully led Brillio’s first global sustainability reporting (Ref. GRI G4) in the year 2017, and Brillio was awarded for its CSR Program at American Business Awards, New York, Microsoft Philanthropist Partner Award, at Washington D.C., and received multiple accolades in India by SHRM, NHRD, and India CSR. He has served on the board/committees of Rotary, CII, BCIC, and NASSCOM. He has been awarded as 100 Most Impactful Global CSR Leader. India CSR Network honoured him as CSR Professional of the Year 2016.

Catherine Garner

She is founder and principal of an international consulting network specializing in innovation in cities and university-business partnerships for knowledge exchange. She is an a member of the New Club of Paris; and an board member to the World Capital Institute in Mexico on knowledge-city development. As Chief Executive of Manchester: Knowledge Capital for six years, she built a globally recognized partnership for innovation by bridging the boundaries across business, universities and government. In the UK she served on the Strategic Advisory Board for Intellectual Property between 2008 and 2010, and was a member of the Cabinet Office Innovators’ Council in 2009. Cathy has served on number of public and private sector Boards and is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Andreas Brandner

He is Founder and CEO of Knowledge Management Austria. He is also a member of the New Club of Paris. He is a coach, consultant and researcher in the field of KM. He focuses on Knowledge Politics, KM strategies and implementation and Knowledge Networking with social media. He is Initiator of the Vienna Knowledge City

Sarah Cummings

Sarah has worked as a consultant for diverse organisations (multilateral, bilateral, non-governmental, educational) in the field of knowledge management for development. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Knowledge Management for Development Journal which she founded with colleagues in 2005. Her research interests focus on the role of knowledge in sustainable development.

Shashank Ojha

Shashank Ojha is a Senior e-Government Specialist with the Transport and ICT Global Practice of the World Bank. He heads the ICT GP / e-Government team of the World Bank in India which is responsible for providing technical advice and funding support on ICT projects funded by the World Bank. He has been involved in providing advisory support to more than 30 ICT / e-Government projects in India, in the Middle East and South Asia region. He holds a Doctoral in Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant from India. Before joining the World Bank, he has worked as a Senior Management Consultant with Ernst & Young and as General Manager-Finance with National Panasonic Group.

Srijan Pal Singh

Srijan Pal Singh is an author, public speaker and social entrepreneur. Currently, Srijan Pal Singh is CEO and Co-Founder of Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Centre, a non-profit organization working on integrated missions across multiple dimensions in an effort to continue on the vision and works of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. After his management degree from IIM Ahmedabad, Srijan was appointed as Officer on Special Duty at the Office of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam where he worked as a close aide to the former president on various consulting works like Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA), Kalam-NSS Initiative for Space based Solar Power, What Can I Give Mission and others. He is also the Mentor and Advisor for Uttar Pradesh Start-up Policy – a venture of the Government of Uttar Pradesh to promote entrepreneurship in the state. Srijan has co-authored three books with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam titled Target 3 Billion, Advantage India and Reignited.

Dhirendra Krishna IA&AS (Retired)

Mr Dhirendra Krishna is the initiator and moderator of Yahoo groups rti4empowerment and rti4ngo for creating awareness about right to information act. Earlier, he has been a member of online Decentralisation Community of UNDP sponsored Solution Exchange. Also, he was appointed project director by the Institute of Public Auditor of India, New Delhi for the Financial Reviews of (i) Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh, (ii) National Rural Health Mission in Madhya Pradesh and (iii) National Rural Health Mission in Chhattisgarh and for drafting State Specific Audit Manuals for Panchayati Raj Institutions in States.

Apoorv Bhandari

Mr Apoorv Bhandari is founder of SankalpTaru Foundation. SankalpTaru is the first technology enabled NGO “planting trees by the people, for the people” across India. The foundation through their work have been also supporting rural livelihood, empowering women, promoting bio-diversity and making schools cleaner and greener. The many awards received by the foundation, the mBillionth South Asia Award 2014, eNGO challenge South Asia Award 2014 and others truly illustrate the impact created by the foundation through their noble work.

Sriparna Sanyal Iyer

Sriparna Sanyal Iyer is the Vice president, Urban Infrastructure at IPE global. She is the thematic Lead for Urban Infrastructure Governance & Planning. She is also Team Leader for DFID assisted Support Programme for Urban Reforms (SPUR) in Bihar. She has extensive experience of working with various donor agencies like DFID, JBIC, UNICEF, SIDA, AusAID and brings in hands on expertise of working in Urban Reforms, Policies, Urban Planning, Urban Governance, Institutional Structuring and Organisational Development. Some of the projects she had previously anchored include Reform Action Plans (RAP) for 7 ULB’s in Haryana, Yamuna Action Plan Phase II (YAP – II), (JBIC); Assessment of Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s Community Sanitation Programme for the Urban Poor, Project Completion Assessment Report for Gangtok – Shillong and South Asia Regional WATSAN Programme, (AusAid)

Pradeep Valsangkar

Wg. Cdr. Pradeep Valsangkar is a senior consultant with the World bank group and runs his personal consulting company, GCS Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. He holds post graduate degrees in computer science from IIT Powai; in Management Studies from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and in Defence studies from Defence Services Staff College at Wellington. He has been working in the domain of IT for over 35 years and providing consulting support to projects in the e-governance domain for the last 15 years. He has worked closely with the governments of Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Mongolia and many other countries in the region. For the last two years he has been actively involved in various aspects of smart city implementations in India.

Surinder Batra

Surinder Batra is Professor, Information Technology & Analytics Area at Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, INDIA. He has been associated with the field of Knowledge Management and Knowledge Based Development for over two decades, and has presented papers in these fields in various international conferences and world summits in various countries. In the Tenth Knowledge Cities World Summit (KCWS2017) held in Peru, he presented a paper, “Smart Knowledge Habitats and their Measurement Frameworks”. He has been the Principal Investigator of a project on “Developing Framework for Flexible Knowledge Management Indices”, supported by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, India. His publication, “GIFT: The Making of a Smart City” brought out by The Case Center, University of Cranfield, UK was among the top fifteen cases of the year 2016 in the Information & Communication category.

Bharat Bhushan

A seasoned professional with 25 plus years of experience in the field of engineering management and providing organization level leadership. He started his career with DRDO as a scientist and later moved on to private sector and worked with global IT companies. In his current role at Radius Synergies International, Bharat heads the IOT/M2M vertical from all aspects including strategy, team management, engineering, client engagement and business development. He is closely involved in innovative solution offerings in the areas of Smart Grid, Smart Energy Monitoring and Management, Intelligent Building Management, Intelligent Remote Asset Management, Smart Cities and Smart Homes by leveraging in-house developed IOT/M2M platform. Bharat holds a Master Degrees in Computer Science from JK Institute of Applied Physics and Technology, University of Allahabad, followed by a MBA and Ph.D. in the area of Strategic Management.
