IMT Ghaziabad’s PGDM team secures first place in the Asian leaderboard of the 2021 Global Bloomberg Trading Challenge, place third globally.

27 November, 2021, Ghaziabad: A team from IMT Ghaziabad’s PGDM program has been declared as one of the winners of the esteemed Bloomberg contest. The IMT Ghaziabad has bagged first place in the Asian leaderboard and stood third across the globe.

The team was guided by Prof. Arit Chaudhury who works as an assistant professor in the field of Finance at IMT Ghaziabad. The team unanimously attribute his guidance as a key factor on their road to success.

The 2021 Global Trading Challenge by Bloomberg for Education spanned across seven weeks. The event saw over 3000 students in 488 teams, crunch numbers and make a total of 14,445 trades. The teams were segregated on the basis of schools and countries, and a leaderboard was maintained across the 5 regions (North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia). During the course of the competition, all the participants have gained immense experience and insights into the world of Investing.

The Bloomberg Trading Challenge is the only university investment competition to take place entirely within the Bloomberg Terminal. Teams of three to five students, led by a faculty advisor, will use the Terminal to define market assumptions, develop a return-generating strategy, and execute trades over a closed network. The winning team will have the highest Relative P&L, relative to the Bloomberg World Large, Mid & Small Cap Price Return Index

“Stock markets have always intrigued me, and this pushed me to take part in this competition. This 7-week journey was full of challenges as we had to check and modify our strategies regularly. IMT helped us get exposure to the Bloomberg terminal and the constant support by Prof. Arit Chaudhury had also played a significant role in our success.”
