Introduction

Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, in collaboration with University of Newcastle, Singapore is happy to announce the first International Conference on Managing Creativity and Innovation (ICMCI).

Businesses today are facing change like never before. Numerous forces are driving this change, including greater competition due to globalization, workforce diversity, the availability of new forms of technology and a shift from manufacturing economies to service economies. Not surprisingly, there is considerable interest in how creativity and innovation can generate sustained competitive advantages.

Creativity is increasingly seen as something that needs to be nurtured not only in industry but also in society in general. The education sector thus plays a pivotal role and must encourage creativity if it is to provide to industry with employees who can get the job done efficiently and creatively.

Creativity is influenced by a wide range of organizational and personal factors. Organizational factors such as climate and leadership influence the creativity of employees as do the personal characteristics of employees such as propensity for risk and role competence.

The purpose of this international conference is to bring together both academic thought leaders and business experts to share, discuss and enhance the latest thinking on creativity and innovation management.

Broad themes have been identified for the conference. Although these are not exclusive, submissions that address these areas are encouraged.
