Girl power of IMT Ghaziabad at OP-ARENA

Getting in a B-School is hard; working your way through it is harder. Believe it or not, this quote is just too apt for a B-School like IMT Ghaziabad.

It was the start of the 4th semester when the word ‘Competitions’ were on a roll in the college. It was a rare sight to see people in the library without exams, but the competitions did make that happen.

For Sanya Sehgal and Madhuri Holani, it all started with an online quiz of OP-ARENA organized by BITS Pilani. With little expectations, the team just tried to apply all the learnt operation skills in the quiz. It was a pleasant surprise to see the team name “WAR CRUNCHERS” in the final list after the quiz.

Held at BITS Pilani, the second round was again a quiz which had teams from colleges like KJ Somaiya, SIOM, GIM, NITIE and KJSIMR. The teams were required to face questions from areas like Operations and Business Management etc. For Madhuri and Sanya, the plan was to play safe by answering only those questions they were totally sure of. And the strategy did work; team WAR CRUNCHERS made it to the Top 4 finalists.

Next day was as exciting as the previous day. The teams were required to come up with a solution to the a case study in a stipulated time of 2.5 hours. It was beyond their expectations that one IT class in IMT could save the game that day. All the teams came up with new ideas and brought a new direction to the case study. More than the joy of victory what made the day wonderful was the feeling of accomplishment of diving into a whole new world of Operations.
