IMT Ghaziabad national finalist in Carpe Diem hosted by HUL

Hindustan Unilever Limited announced its first b-school competitive event of the season, ‘Carpe Diem’ on July, 2014. This was the first edition of Carpe Diem with 6 premier B-Schools of the country participating.

The competition was based on a case study on Pureit water purifiers, with the aim of expanding its reach to the urban as well as rural customers thereby expanding its customer base. The regional head for Pureit, Mr Gaurav, mentored the students for this case. For the preliminary round the teams were required to submit a synopsis, stating their idea. Three teams from IMT qualified for the next round.

In next round the teams were required to elaborate on their idea in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation, and eventually one team was announced as the Campus winners for this competition and got a chance to represent IMT in the Finals to be held in HUL’s Mumbai head office.

The day of the finals started with the teams being welcomed to the auditorium, where Mr KedarLale, (regional head) and Mr Gaurav spoke about HUL and about their respective professional journeys. Each team was given 5 minutes to present their solutions, followed by a 10 minute question answer round from the 3 member panel. About an hour after the presentations, the teams were intimated that SIBM Pune was declared as the national winner.

But the game was not over yet. An announcement was made that HUL was looking for some candidates from all the Institutes for a possible Summer Internship. The selection process would consist of two rounds and on clearing both HUL would get in touch with the college about offering the SIP.

Pratyasha Dasgupta got to know about 2 weeks later that she had received an offer from HUL to intern with them during the summer of 2015.
