PGDM Executive
PGDM (Executive) programme of IMT is a Full Time 15 months specialized course for working
professionals which provides diverse learning opportunities in a short span.
“Keeping in mind the significance of continuing education for working professionals,
IMT has started the PGDM (Executive) program, so that these professionals can upgrade
their managerial skills for handling the challenges of the real business world in
better ways,” says Dr. Sita Mishra, Chairperson of the PGDM (Executive) and part-time
programmes at IMT. “The course enhances their analytical and decision making skills
so that they can efficiently deal with various aspects of business and handle the
roles and responsibilities of senior management effectively.”
Over the length of the 15-month course, students spend 12 months on campus honing their knowledge
and skills and the remaining three months working in real time with companies, applying
what they have learned to actual industry-based projects. Concentrating on the development
of general management skills, the course stresses decision-making capabilities;
social and ethical values; professional competence; expertise in marketing, finance
and systems and global business strategies.
The learning experience in the PGDM (Executive) course encompasses a broad range
of concepts: actual case studies with simulations; real life projects; debates;
discussions with senior executives of organizations, start ups and consulting projects;
and from the students themselves.
As work experience is mandatory to enter the program, the students - from a wide
cross-section of business and industry - share their knowledge and experience in
classroom discussions, adding to the educational value of the course.
In corporate world, this programme is highly recognized. Given the value creation
of this programme, government and private sectors are sponsoring their candidates
for joining IMT’s PGDM (Executive) course. In addition, IMT focuses on student exchange
programmes with reputed B-schools worldwide, enabling students to develop cross-cultural
insights and perspectives and better understand global business.
