In spite of the ongoing severe market recession and economic slowdown, it is a heartening fact that IMT has performed consistently when it comes to placements. The traditional recruiters were keen to visit the campus yet again, though there has been a drop in the number of candidates that were absorbed by them. On the positive side, this opened up opportunities for the institute to explore new avenues, companies and verticals, as a result of which there were many new companies who visited the institute for the first time and recruited students.

The overall average salary for the PGDM programmes comprising Marketing/Operations, Finance, Human Resource, International Business & Information Technology at Placement 2009 was Rs. 8.09 lakhs p.a. The highest domestic salary offered this year was Rs. 13 lakhs p.a. and the highest international package offered was Rs. 20 lakhs p.a.

The students at IMT are also taking this global downturn as a challenge and, true to the history of the institute, are bracing themselves to take it head-on. They realize that it is just a matter of riding the wave and the values and lessons they have learnt at IMT will hold them in good stead for the future.
